About the Project

Kicking off on the VeryAltF tour of ‘08, John Michael and Dalisa Cooper start a Pay-It-Forward project to help photographers get in front of the lens with their families. Something photographers are notorious for not doing. These are their stories.

Erin, Brent, Lana & Calli

Photos taken by: Jake McKee

Our super crazy awesome roadside photos by altf: Right here!

Thanks so much to John and Dalisa for starting this P.I.F project.  We love our photos!

I photographed Erin’s family last month.  Erin (ErinKathleenPhotography) is from Haslet Tx, so we shot in the middle of nowhere because…well, that’s where Haslet is.   It was a lot of fun, and Lana and Calli are such sweethearts!

A few more from this shoot on the blog. Right here!

Thank you John and Dalisa for giving us an awesome gift!!

We had a chance to shoot one of our P.I.F families last night. Sarah of Sarah Rimel Photography out of Kansas City. We had a chance to shoot in Shawnee, Kansas in the back of an old gas station/mechanic shop. To see the rest of the session please visit our blog - Here Here here

Photo of Mark Lutz of Mark Lutz Photography, his wife Jill, and their sons Parker and Brady! We were in Mark’s neck of the woods (Altoona, PA) for a wedding several weeks ago and that’s when we photographed his family. They were a ton of fun, and we just loved hanging out with them. We actually did an entire session, so if you want to see more images, you can check them out HERE

IAN, AUDREY, HOLLYN & AVERY.

Photography by Kelly Talele of Eclectic Photo. See my family portrait here!

I had the pleasure of photographing Audrey Daum (from Audrey Daum Photography) and her beautiful family earlier this month.  We met at the Atlanta Botanical Garden for her session, and thankfully the weather held out for us.  I actually prefer an overcast day to a bright & sunny one, so the clouds were a good thing.  :)

The girls were just a couple of cutie patooties, and the oldest sister was a master of funny faces.  Like the one in this photo:

Thanks so much to Audrey and her family for helping me pay it forward!  Be sure to check out more of their photos on my blog.  And many, many thanks to JMC and Dalisa for putting this project in motion.  :)

Cyndi, Andrew, Megan, Molly, and Josie

Photography by Carisa Kozicki, please click here to view our family photo captured by altf.

In August I had an incredible time photographing and meeting for the first time Cyndi Klose and her adorable and loving family.  I asked Cyndi if there was a special place nearby where she would like their family portraits taken.   As I found out, she and her husband were both graduates of Messiah College, PA and since they had never had a family portrait taken they would love for me to capture them at their Alma Mater.  I was more than happy to accommodate them.  Little Josie the puppy was a brand new addition to the family.  I was super delighted to help document them as they are, right now!

You can see a few more highlights from their session here.

I had the chance to photograph the wonderful Parsons family (who have NEVER had their picture taken).  It was Ashley’s idea for the balloons, and we had an absolute blast driving around Harrisonville, MO.

CJ and Denise’s family became our test and first family on our pay-it-forward project.

2. Annette, Matt & Ian

Photographed by altf

Annette of Avery Bliss Studios, her husband Matt and son, Ian had us laughing along with them as they drenched each other with their water guns just after this shoot.  What a great kick off!

3. Kate, Millie & Bobby

photographed by altf

A dear friend and very talented photographer, Kate of Juxtapose Photography brought her family downtown for an impromptu photo.  Make a mental note - Millie will someday hit the big screen and wow us… I just know it!

4. Pat, Amy, Shanti & Wilbur

As our first family with canine’s - I was absolutely ecstatic when Amy of Shades of You Photography and her husband Pat arrived with Shanti & Wilbur for their family portrait.
